What are the computer requirements to run FlightLog?

 

FlightLog requires Microsoft Excel 97 and later.

 

When I open FlightLog, why am I getting errors in certain cells?

 

You must load the 'Analysis Tookpak' included in all MS Excel Products. To load the 'Analysis Toolpak', open a new (blank) worksheet and follow these instructions...

To install the Analysis ToolPak

1. On the Tools menu, click Add-Ins.

If Analysis ToolPak is not listed in the Add-Ins dialog box, click Browse and locate the drive, folder name, and file name for the Analysis ToolPak add-in, Analys32.xll — usually located in the Microsoft Office\Office\Library\Analysis folder — or run the Setup program if it isn't installed.

2. Select the Analysis ToolPak check box.

Am I required to install the MSCAL.OCX on my computer?

MSCAL.OCX is the calendar component that you will use to select a date from the calendar.  It is not required, but highly recommended, to install this add-in.  If you elect not to install this add-in, you will receive an error upon opening the application and you will have to manually enter the dates.

 

I am unable to view all the pages in FlightLog?

 

Your macro settings are disabled or set to high.  To use FlightLog, your macro settings must be set to medium and enabled. To set you macro settings to ‘Medium’:

 

Click Tools => Macros => Security…

 

Click ‘Medium’.  Upon accomplishing this task, close and re-open FlightLog and click ‘Enable Macros’.

 

I’m concerned about viruses.  Do I have to enable macro settings to use FlightLog?

 

Yes, you must enable macro settings to use FlightLog.  FlightLog does not contain any malicious programming that will negatively affect your computer.
